It’s time for PURE West Nile Street’s first summer! Whilst we usually offer our #YearofPURE winner the chance to try our monthly offers, we decided to treat Louise to something new on our spa menu.

Earlier this month, we added the Exotic Coconut Skin Ritual to our menu — for those of you that were fans of our Nourishing Body Wrap, consider this its luxurious evolution!

Find out what Louise thought of this treatment… spoiler alert: it was her best treatment yet!

I won’t lie. When I was offered the chance to try out the Exotic Coconut Skin Ritual, I had a few reservations.

The description sounded amazing — a hydrating Elemis Nourishing Milk Bath body wrap, followed by the namesake’s coconut skin buff and face/scalp massage. Plus, I’d get to escape in the relaxation area. Sounds nice, doesn’t it?

But try as I might, I couldn’t shake the slight apprehension about it.  I just don’t opt in for this kind of thing normally. I’m sure you understand. We’re all creatures of habit.

Nevertheless, I am a massive fan of functional treatments. Anything that can lead to clearer skin or painted nails. To be honest, I did wonder if I would be able to relax long enough to enjoy it but I was pleasantly surprised by the Exotic Coconut Skin Ritual!

I checked in as usual and went upstairs to the spa with my therapist. My anticipation was validated when I realised you have to strip down to your undies for this one, but my modesty remained firmly in tact thanks to a highly professional therapist!

The treatment begins with Elemis’ Skin Nourishing Milk Bath.  If you have dry or dehydrated skin on your body, nothing will make it feel smoother and more hydrated than this treatment.

You are then wrapped up, which my therapist explained was to allow the product to penetrate your skin as deeply as possible. Think of it like hair conditioner; the longer you leave it on the better.

This is followed by gentle coconut exfoliation over your legs and back and a soothing scalp and facial massage. Don’t worry if you’re not a fan of that ‘coconut smell’, it doesn’t have a distinct scent.

I found this treatment to be very relaxing, so someone who might normally go for massage could consider this if they wanted to change things up but enjoy similar benefits. I was most pleasantly surprised with the effect on my typically dry skin, which was definitely softer and more hydrated long after the treatment.
