You requested it, and we listened — this summer we’ve added threading to our beauty menu!

Whether you’ve been eagerly waiting for this treatment to become available or you’re simply curious, there’s lots to learn about threading. We’re sure it will become one of our most popular treatments!

What is threading?

Threading is a method of hair removal that originates from India, designed to remove even the finest hairs with precision.

The therapist begins by looping a pure, twisted cotton thread in a criss-cross over the hair, removing it at the follicle level. By plucking the hair at follicle level, threading can pull out an entire row of hair at a time unlike tweezing. This results in straighter, cleaner lines which create the best shape to frame the face.

It may look easy, but it takes professional skill and practice to create beautifully groomed and well-defined arches that last longer than shaving or plucking. And unlike many ‘no appointment’ brow bars, the therapists at PURE Spa & Beauty are fully trained in the technique.

What areas of the face do you thread?

It is most popularly used for eyebrows, though threading is the perfect hair removal treatment for any fine hairs on your face.

Why is it so popular for eyebrows?

Let’s face it. Eyebrows are just as much of a fashion accessory as the clothes you wear. And that’s not even a recent trend: from the Audrey Hepburns of way back when to the Cara Delevignes of today, brows definitely have the ability to make a statement.

With great brows being a beauty ‘must’, this is why threading proves to be so popular. Not only is threading less painful for such a sensitive area, the precision makes the shaping more uniquely tailored to your face.

What makes threading at PURE so fantastic?

  2. Your treatment is in a relaxing, hygienic environment.
  3. You will receive expert consultation and after-care advice.
  4. Online booking available for those “oh no, I forgot…” moments when you can’t get to the phone!
