New Year, New Challenge: Head Therapist Vacancy at PURE Spa

New Year, new challenge?

PURE is looking to recruit an exceptional Head Therapist for our day spa located in Silverburn, Glasgow. We are looking for an individual who thrives in a fast paced environment and has excellent leadership skills.

This role requires the individual to work closely with the Salon Manager and Senior Therapist, and requires the individual to take charge of all aspects of delivering excellent client care and achieving the highest standard of treatments within the salon. You will be responsible for ensuring all staff are trained effectively and that all Hygiene, Health & Safety procedures are correctly followed, providing clear guidelines and support to reception, therapists, and retail and spa assistants.

The main responsibilities are:

Staff induction programme
Staff training and development
Treatment development and monitoring
Quality control implementation

Skills and Characteristics Required:

A recognised beauty or spa qualification, minimum SVQ level 3 or Level 6, educated to a minimum of Standard Grade and at least 1 or 2 years experience as a supervisory therapist/ training experience in a spa or similar position
Elemis training preferred but not essential as full training will be given
High levels of customer service skills and attention to detail
Enthusiastic and dynamic self starter, open-minded and demonstrably committed
Duties to include providing treatments to clients and working as a team to provide the highest levels of customer care, promoting the spa and the services and facilities on offer.
You will be responsible for your own clientele and ensuring that you provide the highest levels of presentation, customer care, therapies and home care advice
You will have exceptional people management skills and be able to lead a team to drive them to success

Spotlight On… PURE Spa Pregnancy Massage

Today we’re launching PURE Blog’s brand new series ‘Spotlight On…’ We know that the huge range of beauty and spa treatments and products available today can sometimes be daunting so we’re going to take you through all we have to offer step by step, with a new product or treatment featuring every week on PURE Blog, Facebook and Twitter. You can find out everything you need to know with step by step accounts of what you’ll experience throughout the treatment, therapist hints and tips on products and much more. We’ll then open up the floor on our Facebook and Twitter pages so if there’s anything we haven’t mentioned, you can grill the PURE team for more info! Spotlight On… PURE Spa Pregnancy Massage
Today’s ‘Spotlight On..’ will focus on our Pregnancy Massage, a specially designed massage for pregnant women.

What’s it all about?
As traditional massage is not suitable for pregnant women, our therapists have been specially trained in a unique ‘Pregnancy Massage’ that not only avoids techniques and products that are unsuitable during pregnancy but is specifically tailored to the alternative needs that you may have.

What happens during the treatment?
When you check in, if it is your first visit to PURE Spa, or you haven’t been for a while, you will be given a consultation card to fill out identifying any illness or allergies you may suffer. You will then meet your therapist who’ll take you to the spa changing rooms where you’ll change into a cosy robe and slippers before waiting in the spa relaxation area.
Your therapist will then collect you and take you to your private spa room where your treatment will begin with a relaxing foot ritual. Your feet will be soaked, scrubbed and moisturised while your therapist takes you through a full consultation in order to understand any issues you may have or particular areas where you’d like the massage to concentrate on. Your therapist will then leave the room while you get onto the spa bed and return to begin your massage.

How is it different?
Most importantly, you won’t be lying on your front during this massage, you’ll be lying on your side with specifically placed pillows providing comfort and support throughout the massage. Your therapist will also avoid pressure on the neck area and stimulating oils and products during the treatment, which can both be harmful during pregnancy, instead using massage techniques, scents and products aimed at aiding relaxation. In particular, we use our Elemis Japanese Camellia Oil which moisturises dehydrated pregnant skin and aids the appearance of stretch marks. In fact, Victoria Beckham recently revealed that she’s used the oil to prevent stretch marks throughout all 4 of her pregnancies.

The Benefits?
Massage is constantly championed as a positive aid in general health and well being. It can aid back and muscular pain which can be particularly prominent during pregnancy and the relaxation and time out is of proven benefit to stress levels and anxiety, again something which is of particular benefit to pregnancy women. We also believe that it’s important for your own confidence and state of mind to pamper yourself during pregnancy as it can be such a strain on your body.

Rasul Therapy at PURE Spa Aberdeen | Day Spa and Beauty Salon

As with all our PURE Spa therapies, you will be invited to change into a robe and slippers and take a seat in the relaxation area before your therapist escorts you to your treatment room for a relaxing PURE Spa Foot Ritual and full consultation. The treatment then begins with a Moroccan deep exfoliation where you’ll be buffed from top to toe. You’ll then enter the Rasul where deeply nourishing muds will be applied all over the body and you’ll be left to relax in the fragrant steam of the Rasul chamber to allow your skin to absorb the nutrients and release toxins while you relax and unwind in the tranquil surroundings.
