How Do You Get Rid of White heads?
White heads on spots are caused by clogged pores and a build up of bacteria. It’s important to keep your skin clean by removing all make up and cleansing every night before bed and avoid very rich products that can clog the pores. Oily skin can also be more prone to white heads so products particularly for oily skin should be used to reduce oil and keep skin clean and fresh. A great product to try is REN Mayblossom Cleanser which is very light on the skin and has anti bacterial ingredients which will balance the Skin’s PH balance.

For existing white heads, the best thing to do is to dry them out and detoxify the area. Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask is great for this. As it’s a clay mask, it can be left on over night so simply apply it all over the area and leave it to detox before removing it in the morning.

I was hoping you could advise why I have broken out in spots. Would it be down to my cleanser (eve lom) or the fact my skin is oily in the t zone? I get small spots with white heads or blackheads withtin the t zone or sometimes on my checkbone area.
Eve Lom cleanser may be too rich for your skin, particularly if you suffer from oily areas. It’s likely that the oilyness of your skin combined with the rich cleanser has caused you to break out as the pores will be blocked with both the product and excess sebum. We’d recommend:

REN Mayblossom cleanser
– It’s a gel wash so will be very light on the skin.
– It contains an anti-bacterial agent which will help balance out the Ph of the skin.
– The Foam from the gel will get into your pores to help get rid of the black heads, plus removes excess sebum from the skin.

REN invisible pores Detox mask
-This can reduce the size of the pores and black heads.
-It also draws out impurities.

REN T-zone balancing day fluid
– Helps make the skin look balanced and healthy.

– It can also reduce the shine on the skin (great for oily t-zones.)
– It works with the cleanser to balance the PH levels of the skin.

How often should i exfoliate in my skincare routine?
Exfoliating products help to remove deep dirt and dead skin cells from the face to leave the skin refreshed and radiant, however used too often they can irritate the skin. Exfoliating 2-3 times per week is enough to remove the build up of dead skin cells without causing irritation or damaging new skin.

PURE Loves REN: Some Favourite REN Skincare Products

1.REN Jojoba Microbead Purifying Facial Polish
2. REN Rosa Centifolia Cleansing Gel for Normal Skin
3. REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask
4. REN Rose O12 Moisture Defence Serum for Dry Skin
5. REN Hydra-Calm Cleansing Milk for Sensitive Skin

We love the story of how REN Skincare was created. The creators, Robert Calcraft and Anthony Buck began researching the skincare market after Anthony’s wife suffered bad reactions to all of her daily skincare products during pregnancy. After much searching, they found that there wasn’t a skincare range that they believed was high-tech and effective while remaining clean and natural. And so, they made it their quest to fill the void bringing REN Skincare onto the market.

REN Skincare is designed to be ‘clean’ in that the products contain no ingredients that are harmful to the skin, instead all the contents are natural, yet remain effective at targeting skin problems. REN also strive to be an all round ethical company with none of their products tested on animals or containing animal ingredients (other than milk, honey and beeswax) plus they also do their bit for the environment- packaging is as environmentally friendly as possible and all REN packaging can be sent back to their freepost address to be recycled. As if that wasn’t nice enough, at least 2.5% of all profits are donated to environmental and social charities. As REN Say themselves ‘We believe a principle is a principle even if it costs money. We believe we reap what we sow. We prefer goodwill to suspicion, humour to gravitas.’

Above are some of our favourite REN Skincare products, all of which can be found, bought and delivered free of charge at Pure Spa Shop.

Get The Look: Jennifer Aniston

When we spotted these photos of Jennifer Aniston out in New York, we loved her relaxed yet smart look and thought it would be a great to recreate her look on the high street for our lovely Pure Blog readers.

Jennifer’s style is very chic with lots of basics and classic items so it’s no surprise to see her in this simple yet effective cowl neck jersey dress. The shape will suit most figures while the ruched detail adds some interest and camouflage in certain areas. Jennifer has paired this very simply with a tailored black blazer and suede heeled boots that give a nod to the approaching Autumn, these suede boots from New Look are very similar and are a great addition to an Autumn wardrobe to be worn in lots of different ways. For accessories Jennifer has a simple grey scarf tied around her classic gold chain bag. This is a great way to add a little something to a plain bag and the scarf will also come in handy when it gets a little colder in the difficult to judge Autumn weather. This Moschino bag is a great dupe for Jen’s and although it is slightly higher priced than a high street equivalent, it’s a great investment in a good quality item that, with it’s classic design, will last and last. Finally, we couldn’t possibly talk about Jen, without mentioning her youthful, flawless glowing skin that she’s renowned for. Elemis Skin Bliss Capsules offer a great route to achieving Jen’s glow. Suitable for all skin types, the capsules contain pure Moringa Oil with its unique anti-ageing properties to dramatically renew skin elasticity and skin youthfulness.

What do you think of Jen’s look? Will you be copying it via the high street?

Winter Fashion: New Season Boots

The sundresses get packed away and the wooly jumpers put in their place and the high street becomes packed full of new season treats. Along with your winter coat a key piece for any winter wardrobe is the perfect pair of boots.
