Jackie’s Story

This week, we have Jackie – one of our PURE Spa Ocean Terminal therapists – discussing her journey whilst trying out diet supplements as an aid to weight loss. This is an alternative take on health & fitness which I’m sure might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but a journey that is worth hearing about for anyone curious!

I work out 2-3 times a week for about 90 minutes each time, so I am already pretty fit and healthy, but I decided to try out diet supplements prior to going on holiday for a boost to help shed those extra pounds before getting into my bikini.

I completed a 4 week plan which consisted of 1 meal and 2 shakes a day, plus cups of herbal tea throughout. After the 4 weeks, although I felt comfortable to get into a bikini, I don’t think I lost any weight – which was disappointing as I had spent a lot of money on it all. The shakes were full of sugar additives and the weight will likely come straight back on after you complete the plan. Additionally, personal trainers are reluctant to work with anyone who follows a diet supplements plan, as it will result in a lack of energy – which is obviously required for fitness.

Essentially, using diet supplements has really showed me it is really all about pursuing a healthy lifestyle and doing lots of exercise the natural way – there is no quick fix route!!
