7 Tips for Employers on How to Improve Staff Wellbeing at Work

The PURE experience is not limited to our spas and beauty treatment rooms – our ethos goes far beyond that. Relaxation and ‘me time’ is vital in all walks of life, so we felt it was time to pass on some often-forgotten tips on how to improve staff wellbeing at work.

And remember: this can improve you or your fellow employee’s welfare, productivity, retention and ultimately profits.

Top tips!

  • Put real plants in the office
Green is psychologically shown to boost creativity, so putting some simple plants around the office should help employees to be more creative.  If they are real plants they will also suck out Carbon Dioxide from the air and make the air cleaner to breath.
  • Maintain good temperature
21 degrees Celsius is the generally accepted best working temperature; you won’t spend time warming up or feeling distracted by having to cool down.
  • Seating
Ensure you and your employees have the correct seats – this will help prevent back pain, which is the single biggest reason for employee absence.
  • Breaks
Make sure employees take at least 20/30 min break – foster a culture of taking a break from the desk. This is good for morale, productivity, but also personal welfare.
  • Stress balls
Not for everyone, but they really do work for some!
  • Encourage everyone to be nice
Stress is often caused through mis-communication or inappropriate comments.  Try to foster a positive environment by encouraging everyone to give thanks to each other every week for the good things they have done.
  • Moments of Brilliance
At PURE, we have Moments of Brilliance folders where we share great feedback with everyone – this helps to foster a positive environment and help staff to feel good about their work.
