March is here, and with that comes two things: Mother’s Day and another monthly review of PURE West Nile Street through our #YearofPURE competition winner.

This month, Louise and her mum spent a day out in the Glasgow city centre having a pampering day! It wasn’t Mother’s Day, but we wanted her to review it in time so you knew it was a fantastic gift!

So, how did Louise and her mum get on?

It’s that time of year again, when we can indulge our Mums as a thank you for all they do for us and ahead of Mother’s Day 2015, I wanted to treat my Mum’s hard working hands to a little TLC.

As winner of the #YearofPURE competition, I was lucky to be offered the Marvellous Manicure for Two, the beauty offer for March. It included a Deluxe Manicure and bubbly for me and my mum at PURE Spa & Beauty on West Nile Street.

Now, I try to keep up with manicures as often as I can but despite being a glamorous lady, my mum is a life-long nail biter who normally neglects her hands, so the therapist had her work cut out for her!

nailsA Deluxe Manicure includes an add-on. The phrase ‘like mother like daughter’ didn’t really apply, as we both decided to try new things!

Mum’s treatment started with a soak, hand exfoliation and mask. This made her skin soft and supple.

My add-on was the hand massage. It sounds like something so small, but it was the best part of the treatment, in my opinion! It is incredibly relaxing.

The cuticle treatment helped to improve the condition and look of our nails as well.   After some filing and buffing to shape the nail bed , I opted for a french polish while my mum played it safe with a classic nude shade, which gave a perfectly well-groomed look given she doesn’t have particularly long nails.

Lasting just 30 minutes, the Deluxe Manicure was a great way to wind down after a marathon race around the city centre shops, we both enjoyed a glass of bubbly as part of our treatment as well which was the perfect way to end a lovely day of mother/daughter time.

My mum even enjoyed having her nails done! Maybe that’ll stop her biting them… but probably not! Everyone has a vice.

P.S. We were feeling particularly camera shy that day. Blame the weather!
